Restaurant, Cape Town

Umi is where one goes to enjoy sushi while in Cape Town. The modern, Japanese, beachfront spot is for those who have a taste for the finer things in life. The restaurant itself is romantic and picturesque, filled with fresh orchids and flower arrangements, chandeliers and cream leather seating; but its selling point is the outdoor seating area which is just as sublime – plus has the ocean and white sands as an additional bonus.

Being so charming, the restaurant is often reserved for private functions and events (be sure to check before making a reservation). The food is as delectable as one would imagine, and the menu offers authentic and contemporary Japanese dishes with an innovative twist. The wine list is extensive and gives connoisseurs a chance to try out the best South African wines while sitting on the beautiful coast of Camps Bay. We recommend the ‘Warwick The White Lady Wooded’ Chardonnay to start.
