The Juniper Kitchen
Bar and Kitchen, Nairobi
A visit to Juniper Kitchen is like hanging out a friend’s back yard – of course a friend with a very large backyard, amazing food and drinks constantly on supply, and live music on demand.
The restaurant, which might better be described as a “hangout spot” with a great kitchen, is highly popular with both trendy Kenyans and their expat counterparts. The vibe is open, communal, casual, and when it gets dark and the fairy lights are ablaze, quite magical. Juniper has both indoor and outdoor seating areas.
The style of Juniper Kitchen is very D.I.Y chic – crates as tables, menus on blackboards, pretty cocktails in jars of different shapes and sizes.
On the menu food-wise is basic, hearty, but downright delicious fare. We are referring to the likes of honey-glazed grilled chicken wings, guacamole, vegetarian samosas, and perfectly formed potato wedges. All to be washed down with a refreshing Gin Basil.
Located to the North West of Nairobi’s downtown area, set in a countryside ambience, Juniper Kitchen is a chance to enjoy the calm suburbs of Nairobi alongside an urban crowd.
A key component of the Juniper experience is the pop up events, from ‘Urban Night’s with live DJs, to acoustic performances, and even karaoke.
