Hip Africa is happy to hail 1415 the best Italian restaurant in Lagos. Admittedly competition isn’t exactly stiff, nevertheless the cuisine in this high-end spot would pass as good Italian even to the seasoned palate.
The restaurant comprises a large, elegant, dining room, and a more casual bar and lounge area. The décor is as sleek and upscale as you get in Lagos, making 1415 a good spot for business, as well as social, dinners that aim to impress. The fact that the restaurant occupies the ground floor area of the Eko Suites, a central business hotel, makes the vibe perhaps a little less authentic, but ever more practical.
However the real highlight of 1415 is the food. From starters, to mains, to deserts, each is a pleasant surprise. From the Entrees the Caprese salad and the antipasti style grilled vegetables are good options. For mains, choose between a selection of delicious, cooked properly (not mushy) pastas, including favourites such as Spaghetti alla Vongole and Penne alla Vodka. If it’s meat you’re after, 1415 does a mean steak, to be enjoyed alongside a glass of red from their respectable wine menu.
True to any good Italian restaurant for dessert 1415 boasts one delicious tiramisu – as good as any you’ll find anywhere.
Service standards at 1415 are also high, especially for Lagos, where restaurant staff can sometimes approach things with something of a relaxed attitude.
